"Journalist on set: Figure skating. Péchalat and Bourzat unveil their program for the next Olympic Games in Sochi. And their approach, as you’ll see, is surprising. A lovely report by Marie-Christelle Maury, filmed by Guillaume Michel.
Voice off: Early morning at the Bercy ice rink. Nathalie Péchalat and Fabian Bourzat, rehearse their new free progra, as mime Julien Cottereau watches on. The theme chosen for the next season is that of the Little Prince, with Nathalie in the role of the rose. Of course.
Julien Cottereau: the rose which is blooming, it’s important for you, for your gaze. It’s not “hi it’s me” immediately….it’s….she is blooming and she…..she will free in you that desire to come [closer] around her
Nathalie Péchalat: It’s the first time we build a program with words. Usually we go to the dancing studio with Julien or other consultants and we move. We move our bodies, we do stuff together, and here it’s the first time we got on the ice and he just told us words, we read excerpts of the book, and it was up to us to interprete what he was telling us
Voice off: A mime to bring his own touch to the new program of the [ice] dancers
Julien Cottereau: [initially inaudible] to him for a kiss and at the last moment….no. I may possibly bring a little extra soul to the choreography. They have this huge talent
Voice off: narrate a story where the essential is hidden from view, this is the new gamble of Nathalie Péchalat and Fabian Bourzat. So, will Saint Exupéry be able to seduce the jury at the Olympic Games?”
